One of the most important factors that homeowners have to consider when looking for a new home is the property’s distance to work. Of course, some cities are known to have a much longer commute on average.

According to Statista, New York came in no. 1 for having the longest commute at 39.4 minutes. Following closely behind is Jersey City at 35.6 minutes and Newark at 33.9 minutes.

Chicago’s commuters have the fourth longest commute in the country at 33.7 minutes, and Philadelphia rounds out the top five cities with the longest commute at 32.3 minutes.
