Home to Structured Development, who converted the historic building from its original function as a railroad terminal complex, this building is constructed between 1909 and 1911. The three-story, Beau Arts style building once housed the coal-fired boilers and generators that provided electricity for Chicago Northwestern Railroad’s terminal complex.
Structured Development redeveloped the property into three interior levels of office and retail space with tenants including New Line Tavern, Body Gears Physical Therapy, and Wight & Co. The Powerhouse is a designated City of Chicago Landmark and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
