RadPad and Luxe reveal valet-ready apartments

Even in large metros with good public transportation, parking is still a priority for renters. For tenants unable to find the right parking near their homes, RadPad teamed up with Luxe to illustrate valet-ready apartments in Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, New York City and San Francisco.

Nearly half of renters rank parking as number one in their must-have list, according to RadPad, the apartment search and rent payment provider named Facebook’s North American app of the year.

“In San Francisco, Chicago and LA, parking is scarce,” RadPad CEO Jonathan Eppers said. “If you get home late from work, you have to spend time looking for parking. We thought Luxe could be a great alternative.”

For renters in buildings without onsite parking, a valet is waiting to park their cars in one of Luxe’s garages.

“We want it to make sense. Not just for RadPad, but our customers, too,” Eppers said of the partnership with Luxe. “It helps landlords who don’t offer parking to have an additional option to make their unit more attractive.”

All listings within Luxe’s range feature a clickable logo under the amenities section. From there, RadPad users can sign up for a Luxe account at a discounted price. Specific costs vary by location.

And to further the incentive, a Luxe membership may cost less than a monthly garage fee — like in Chicago, where Luxe’s residential overnight membership costs $200 per month. Some cities also include Luxe Car Care, providing four free fuel-ups, $5 discounts on car washes and $15 discounts on oil changes.

Eppers said that Luxe is available seven days per week in all of its markets and covers drivers for up to $5 million in insurance.

Where to find valet-ready apartments

Chicago

Unfortunately, there are only 0.77 respective parking garages and lots for 1,000 commuter vehicles in the Windy City. But with a luxe membership, Chicagoans can get weekday nightly parking and weekend storage. If the car is left from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week, the owner will face daily rates.

Los Angeles

In L.A., the land of traffic, perhaps the only thing worse than the grueling commute is the inability to park upon arrival. With a residential overnight membership for $224, drivers get unlimited night and weekend parking with four free weekday stores (allowing parking between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.) per month. Each additional weekday store costs $15 extra.

Austin

Austin may be a bike-friendly haven, but not all renters are ready to part with their wagons quite yet. The Luxe Unlimited package costs RadPad renters $299 for the first month and $379 each month following. The fee includes unlimited parks and overnights every day, plus Car Care.

San Francisco

RadPad says it costs $1 million to buy a parking spot in San Francisco. While the vast majority can’t afford to own a space, street parking is sparse in the Bay Area, with 500,000 cars and only 275,000 spots. In San Francisco, the Luxe Unlimited package ($359 the first month and $399 following) grants users unlimited parking and Car Care.

NYC

The standard rate for Luxe’s occcasional parking option in the Big Apple is $399 per month, including 10 ins-and-outs plus unlimited overnights. NYC Luxe members also receive Car Care. The Unlimited Parking membership in NYC is a steep $799 per month.
