A Las Vegas real estate agent‘s Friday evening showing turned violent last week when the agent was stabbed in the neck.

According to an article in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Ryan Vega was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries on September 30.

He had been showing a home to a buyer, and the current tenants were present. The newspaper article says that police suspect one of the tenants is responsible but have made no arrests.

Vega’s wife, Josephine, set up a GoFund Me page where she gave updates on her husband’s current condition and asked for emotional and financial support for the long recovery ahead.

According to Josephine, Ryan had emergency surgery to close multiple wounds near his trachea and is breathing with the help of a machine until his wounds heal. Once the breathing tube is removed, doctors will help Ryan learn how to breathe and eat on his own again, she says.

“Our No. 1 goal is for Ryan to get through this physically, spiritually and emotionally. We ask for positive thoughts at this time,” Jospehine wrote.

“Light a candle, say a prayer, and if you’re able, please donate any monetary value you can spare. All monies raised will go towards Ryan’s out of pocket expenses for hospital and rehabilitation expenses not covered by his insurance.”

As of October 7, 68 donors have given $5,039 — approximately $900 short of the $6,000 goal.
