Here are the top 10 Los Angeles Metro school districts of 2016:
San Marino Unified School District
As the second best school in California, San Marino Unified School District is a highly acclaimed institution across the state. Within the L.A. area, the district is comprised of four schools and 3,132 students in grades K-12, scoring a combined rating of 4/5 from parents and students.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District
Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District holds 19 schools and 11,700 students. It’s the second best near Los Angeles and fourth best in the state, receiving at least an A in all seven categories except resources and facilities, for which it scored a B.
Arcadia Unified
Located in Upper San Gabriel Valley Township, Arcadia Unified has 11 schools and almost 10,000 students. Arcadia is ranked 11th in California, receiving at least a B in all categories except extracurricular and activities (C+) and sports and fitness (C-).
Irvine Unified School District
With 36 schools and over 30,000 students, Irvine Unified School District is considerably sized without forgoing educational standards. It’s the 12th best school in the Golden State, receiving an A+ in both academics and teacher quality.
Oak Park Unified School District
Oak Park Unified School District includes eight schools and 4,669 students. The district teaches kindergarten through high school and ranks 13th in the state, receiving an A+ in both academics and teacher quality.
Walnut Valley Unified School District
In East San Gabriel Valley Township, Walnut Valley Unified School District holds 15 total schools and 14,575 students. Compared to statewide standings, Walnut Valley comes in 14th place, scoring a 3.9/5 rating from parents and teachers.
Redondo Beach Unified School District
Redondo Beach Unified School District has 13 schools and over 9,000 students across South Bay Cities Township. It’s the 16th best district in California, receiving at least an A in all categories except health and safety (B+).
Los Alamitos Unified School District
Los Alamitos Unified School District in North Coast Township has 10 schools and almost 10,000 students, ranking eighth in the metro area and 20th in California. The district received at least an A in all categories except resources and facilities (B-).
South Pasadena Unified School District
South Pasadena Unified School District in Los Angeles County has five schools and 4,741 students. It’s ranked 22nd in California, with at least a B in all categories besides resources and facilities (C+).
Beverly Hills Unified School District
Beverly Hills Unified School District – which includes 90210’s famous Beverly Hills High – has six schools and over 4,000 students. Rated 10th among metro school districts, the district’s state ranking is 23rd place, scoring a combined 3.7/5 from parents and students.
