Hear why websites are dead and how to crush it using Facebook ads

Have you heard? Websites are dead — at least as a means for generating leads.

So says Chris Smith, co-founder of Curaytor, a marketing and sales company that helps real estate teams grow faster.

Smith will be speaking at Inman’s Connect on the Road Miami on Nov. 30.

“Most agents don’t report a huge ROI from their sites,” Smith said. “They’re not built for a high conversion rate.”

What are built for converting leads? Landing pages.

Smith uses Microsoft as a prime example. When the company launched Windows and wanted to get downloads, it created a landing page separate from its website where they it send traffic from all of its marketing efforts.

This provided one place to dowload the browser rather than having customers search the entire Microsoft website.

“The attention span of consumers is about eight seconds,” Smith said. Landing pages that have a simple, clear offer can help dramatically increase conversion rates.

Although landing pages have been around since the early 2000s, the tactic has remained largely untapped within the real estate industry, according to Smith.

A former top-producing employee in Florida and the author of The Conversion Code, Smith will give vaulable insights into how how agents and brokers can best use landing pages to increase their ROI.

In addition to his presentation, “Websites are Dead. Why Professional Marketers use Landing Pages,” which will be given during the afternoon program, Smith will open the event with a presentation on how to crush it with Facebook ads and marketing.

Smith says when putting a Facebook ad into someone’s newsfeed, a traditional advertising approach just doesn’t work.

He encourages adhering to the best practices of the eco-system by including emoji and trying out albums to help entice viewers to see the ad as a vauable part of their experience.

In addition to best practices for Facebook ads, Smith will also give advice on how to use the platform for getting leads to listings at a fraction of the cost than you might be paying for leads through portals.
