WATCH: How to create a flash briefing and extend your reach

Consumers of all kinds are embracing voice technology because of its ease, utility and convenience.

In 2018 alone, U.S. smart speaker ownership rose 40 percent to 66.4 million units, according to Jason Frazier, Shred Media’s chief creative officer. Amazon’s Echo has 61 percent of that market. Sixty-five percent of 25- to 49-year-olds use voice search everyday across all devices.

All this interest makes doing “flash briefings” through Amazon an attractive proposition for marketers. Flash briefings are three to four minute, informative pieces of prerecorded audio that consumers can call up on their Amazon Alexa. Marketers can create their own mini-podcasts on the platform with a developer account on Amazon with minimal equipment.

Frazier spoke at Inman Connect Las Vegas 2019.

Frazier recommended not mentioning your listings, but creating a news and current events or community-related message and appending your name, business and contact information at the end. He recommended creating around three briefings a week.

For this and other interesting insights, watch Frazier explore more about flash briefings, how they work and why you should think about doing one.
