Zillow to offer ‘featured properties’ for multifamily rental listings

Starting Aug. 1, Zillow will allow real estate pros to boost views and leads by designating as “featured” their multifamily rental listings on Zillow Rentals and HotPads for $50 per month.

“Featured properties” on the Zillow Rental Network, which includes Zillow Rentals and HotPads, will be presented higher in a renter’s search results on Zillow Rentals and HotPads, show up in red on a HotPads map search, and have a “Trusted” or “Featured” badge stamped on the listing description, the portal noted in a blog post.

Zillow claims featured listings will generate 11 times more views and 16 times the number of leads.

Zillow Rentals, which provides a free suite of tools to landlords and property managers to market and manage their listings, launched in October, not long after Zillow’s acquisition of rental relationship management platform RentJuice. A month later, Zillow announced it would acquire map-based real estate search site HotPads for $16 million.

In February, Zillow opened a rentals-focused office in San Francisco’s financial district, bringing together Zillow Rentals and HotPads under one roof.
