Nimble’s email ‘widgets’ surface social, profiles and contact information in your inbox

Nimble — a contact management tool that maintains social media-powered lead profiles and organizes interactions with a contact into one platform — has added email widgets that surface a contact’s Nimble info within a user’s inbox.

Today’s update also includes a tool that shows how users or their teams are connected to contacts through mutual friends via social media, an algorithm that predicts which contacts are important, a reminder app that helps manage when to contact a lead, and a new contact profile view that makes it easier to see a person’s relevant social and bio info.

Nimble founder and CEO Jon Ferrara is hoping that Nimble, which charges users $15 per month, will become a verb, replacing “Google.” When someone needs to find info about a person, they’ll “Nimble” them, he said.

Nimble’s new widgets, which bring a contact’s social posts, full profiles and contact information in a single view, are available for Gmail, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Outlook 2013 and the social media management platform HootSuite.

Ferrara, a co-founder of Goldmine, one of the original customer relationship management (CRM) systems, launched Nimble in 2011. He calls Nimble a “relationship management platform” as he envisions it working next to a CRM platform, enhancing it with detailed info and the relationship history with a contact.

Nimble’s last update to its platform in May included a launch screen that surfaces potential contacts in a user’s network that the system “thinks” might be useful people for the user to know and a filtering system that presents social conversations from Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook that Nimble thinks might be good for a user to participate in.

CRM software has practically become a must for real estate brokers and agents who land business by generating “leads” — potential buyers and sellers — that they must “incubate,” or maintain contact with until they are actually ready to close.

Today, Zillow launched Zillow Tech Connect, which opens up its platform to various software providers, including CRM platforms. The program launched with integration with BoomTown CRM.

Trulia-owned Market Leader began offering its CRM product to brokers in September. In October, transaction management platform EZ Coordinator revamped its CRM, including a new mobile-optimized design, and ZipRealty released a mobile-optimized version of its “Zap” CRM.
