SAN DIEGO — The National Association of Realtors and Realtor-owned real estate transaction and forms company zipLogix are teaming up to offer transaction forms software zipForm Plus as a free member benefit for all of the nation’s 1 million-plus Realtors.

NAR President Chris Polychron made the announcement today at the “NAR 360” session of NAR’s annual conference. He said the partnership would be the “first step to a comprehensive transaction platform” and would “keep the Realtor at the center of every transaction — where we belong.”

The deal reflects the industry’s increased focus on streamlining the transaction process as a way to win over agents and brokers. Portal giant Zillow Group acquired transaction management platform dotloop over the summer. Zillow Group has said it plans to make the platform available to its broker partners and agent advertisers.

Zillow Group rival and realtor.com operator Move Inc. made a similar acquisition shortly thereafter, snapping up transaction management startup Reesio.

ZipLogix is a joint venture between the National Association of Realtors and California Association of Realtors subsidiary Real Estate Business Services Inc. (REBS). As of the end of 2013, NAR owned an approximately 30 percent interest in zipLogix, carrying a value of $4 million.

NAR’s Board of Directors must approve the deal on Monday.
