Lockboxes open up homes — and they’re increasingly opening up information about those homes, too.
On the heels of an integration with Realtors Property Resource (RPR), Realtor-owned SentriLock has debuted a similar integration with real estate mobile app company Homesnap.
What’s the integration do?
Now, agents who use both SentriLock and Homesnap can call up Homesnap’s MLS-powered property details for a particular home as soon as they unlock the home’s SentriLock lockbox with their SentriSmart mobile app.
“Homesnap users who also use SentriLock can now access agent-only MLS listings on the Homesnap platform without needing to close out of SentriLock and open Homesnap and copy the address,” Homesnap spokeswoman Gayle Weiswasser told Inman via email.
“The experience is convenient and quick. They get access to two key mobile agent tools — Homesnap and SentriLock — in a seamless way that saves time and effort.”
The integration is available in MLS markets where Homesnap Pro and SentriLock have existing relationships or partnerships that overlap, including Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. (MRIS) in the Mid-Atlantic region, Midwest Real Estate Data (MRED) in the Chicago area, REColorado in the Denver area, RealTracs in the Mid-South region, and the MLS of Long Island (MLSLI) in New York, among other markets.
“Almost 400,000 agents and brokers have access to Homesnap Pro provided by their MLS, and millions of consumers use the platform to research and share homes,” Weiswasser said.
In a blog post, Homesnap detailed how the process would work:
1. Login to SentriSmart
2. Locate the property you wish to see.
3. Type in your PIN.
4. Once you’ve received the access code, enter it into the lockbox.
5. When prompted, choose Homesnap to view the property details. This will pull up the listing in Homesnap.

SentriLock is the trade group’s official lockbox provider and has nearly 1 million lockboxes in use by over 280,000 agents from over 300 different boards, associations and MLSs in the United States and Canada, according to NAR.
Homesnap obtains data feeds from hundreds of sources, including more than 40 multiple listing services, property tax records, census data, geographic boundaries, property polygons, school information and mortgage rates, according to its website.
Homesnap is the official technology partner for the Broker Public Portal, an initiative backed by brokers and multiple listing services to create the first national public-facing MLS listing site.
In July, MRED became the first MLS to launch BPP through Homesnap.
This integration is available to BPP users who have incorporated Homesnap Pro and are located in an area where SentriLock has a relationship in place, Weiswasser said.
