More than 3,400 agents and brokers belonging to the largest Realtor association in Oklahoma, the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors, will now be able to send their listings to popular real estate portal Trulia directly through their multiple listing service platform.

As part of an agreement between GTAR and Trulia, GTAR’s MLS, Northeast Oklahoma Real Estate Services Inc. (NORES), will send brokers’ listings to the portal on an opt-in basis. Listings will be updated as often as every eight minutes under Trulia’s “Data Connect” program.

GTAR will also participate in Trulia’s Direct Reference program as part of the deal. The program compares data received from MLSs to that sent by other sources, reporting any discrepancies in the data to the MLS, broker and listing agent, and giving the agent the ability to correct inaccurate information at the source, Trulia said.

“Accurate listing information not only provides a great experience for homebuyers and sellers, but also protects the broker’s brand and generates the most value for agents and brokers,” said Alon Chaver, Trulia’s vice president of industry services, in a statement.

In terms of what is displayed on the site, only a direct broker or franchise feed can trump a direct MLS feed, Trulia spokesman Matt Flegal told Inman News.

A direct MLS feed also ensures that the listing agent is clearly indicated with the right contact information, he added.

“We have partnered with Trulia to help our brokers maximize exposure for their listings while ensuring the highest level of protection for their data,” said Mike Cotrill, GTAR’s CEO, in a statement.

“We support the broker’s choice in deciding how to best market homes for their clients, and providing Trulia as an option makes a lot of sense. Trulia’s industry-friendly publishing practices and willingness to collaborate on data security makes partnering with them an easy decision.”

Trulia.com was the second most visited real estate site in May, attracting 26.4 million unique visitors on desktop and mobile devices, according to comScore. Rival Zillow.com had 44.2 million unique visitors while realtor.com’s traffic came in at 22.2 million.

More than 60 MLSs have joined Trulia’s Data Connect program, including Arizona Regional MLS and My Florida Regional MLS, which began sending the portal direct feeds earlier this year.
