A new report from Trulia finds McMansions — big plots of land dotted with similarly styled homes — are losing appeal in some areas of the country. The report showed San Francisco premiums for McMansion homes fell 38.2 percent between 2012 and 2016. The Oakland point change was a dip of 30.9 percent. Ten years ago in Oakland, the McMansion premium was 63.8 percent — today, that premium sits at 45.9 percent. San Francisco premiums have changed during the same time period from 164.4 percent to 165.9 percent.

Paragon Real Estate Group just released its semi-annual report about home pricing and neighborhoods in San Francisco. Although you’d have to be a cave-dwelling hermit to not know the Bay Area is expensive, this report shows what you get for how much, and where.

Apartment List’s latest Renter Survey studied renter satisfaction across major metros, grading factors such as affordability, crime, jobs and weather. While San Francisco received an A- in overall renter satisfaction, affordability scored an F.
