Pulse: What early career lessons are helping you now?

In challenging times, it’s a smart idea to revisit the fundamentals of good business. This spring, go Back to Basics with Inman.

Pulse is a recurring column where we ask for readers’ takes on varying topics in a weekly survey and report back with our findings.

The COVID-19 pandemic has urged a lot of real estate professionals to look back, reassess their work and determine the practices that matter in this newly changed world. So this week, we’re asking you to share a valuable career lesson you learned when you were first starting out in the field — something that stuck with you and that you still believe in and use now.

In the spirit of helping others, particularly newbie agents, let us know what advice you’d pass along to those who are still finding their footing in the industry. The hope is that they can draw from your experiences and perhaps adopt those winning strategies over the course of their own careers.

We’ll compile a list of the top responses and post them on Inman next Tuesday.
