Compass is expanding into the Rocky Mountain ski-town of Telluride, Colorado, with an award-winning Realtor who regularly ranks among the state’s top-producing. Bill Fandel, the co-founder of Sotheby’s International Realty’s Global Partners group, is bringing his more than 25 years of industry experience to Compass to head up its new office.

“It is with great enthusiasm that I join the team at Compass,” said Fandel, in a statement. “The combination of blue-chip investors, highly accomplished leadership and a growing international footprint bolstered by cutting edge technology made this an outstanding fit for my clientele’s needs and interests.”

Fandel has brokered multiple headline-grabbing transactions in his career, including the sale of a $46.5 million Colorado ranch and a $48 million alpine estate. He has twice finished among the top 250 real estate brokers in sales volume according to Real Trends and from 2011 to present, he has been noted as one of Colorado’s top brokers in sales volume on Real Trends annual compilation of best agents by state.

Twice he’s been named Telluride’s Realtor of the Year and the Telluride Association of Realtors honored him with its President’s Award.

“I am so excited to have Bill as a member of the Compass family,” said Robert Reffkin, founder and CEO of Compass. “As a talented and respected agent and leader in his community, I am excited for him to help us continue on our journey of helping everyone find their place in the world.”

Compass is also snagging another top-producing agent from Sotheby’s International Realty: Suzanne Perkins, who was the top-ranked individual agent in Santa Barbara amongst all brokerages in 2017, the top individual agent at Sotheby’s International Realty in southern California and the fifth-ranking agent at Sotheby’s International Realty nationwide.

Perkins finished 52nd on the Real Trends ‘Thousands’ list of top agents, closing $154 million in sales last year.

“I’m confident that everything Compass offers will elevate my business which will allow me to provide my clients with the best service possible,” Perkins said.

Compass, which was founded in 2012 by Ori Allon and Reffkin, operates in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, San Diego, Washington, D.C., Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, Miami, Aspen, Orange County, Westchester, Santa Barbara, Montecito, Marin, Greenwich, Naples, Tahoe and The Hamptons.

In the last year, Compass has more than tripled its agent count, from 2,100 in 2017 to 6,400 and counting now, according to The Real Deal. This has been accomplished through a combination of hires and major acquisitions.
