Although Superman and his bookish alter ego, Clark Kent, may not be real-life fixtures of New York City, the superhero’s apartment on the fifth floor of the Standish Arms Apartments in Brooklyn Heights is very much real property — and now it’s for sale for $5.9 million, The New York Post reported.

Paolo Sciarra and Spencer Means of Compass are representing the listing.

The 2,400-square-foot apartment at the Standish, the building that inspired Kent’s Standish Arms Apartments, has four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. It was last sold for $5.27 million in 2021.

The superhero’s apartment at the Standish is mentioned frequently in the DC comic books, but it’s even more heavily featured in a television episode during which the Rope Burglar breaks into Kent’s apartment and steals his Superman costume.

The 1903-built Beaux Arts building is also home to a host of well-known real-life celebrities today. Matt Damon lives in a $16.74 million six-bedroom triplex with wife Luciana Barroso and their four children. John Krasinski (The Office, Jack Ryan), his wife Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada) and their two children live in an $11.86 million two-unit combo.

The fifth-floor condo unit features an open floor plan, a gourmet kitchen with custom Shaker-style cabinetry, distinctive bay windows, Austrian White Oak hardwood floors and views of Lower Manhattan, the harbor and the Statue of Liberty. Building amenities include a private rooftop terrace, a gym, 24-hour security, a children’s playroom, and original prewar design details.
