All real estate teams have to start from square one. Hear from successful team leaders, moderator Kris LindahlKris Lindahl Real Estate; Rachel Adams LeeKeller Williams Realty; Jeremy SteinSotheby’s International Realty; and Daniel Beer, eXp’s Beer Home Team, as they reflect back on what they did early on to set up their teams for success.

Trial, error and repeat are often part of the team-building formula expressed during the panel onstage at Inman Connect New York.

Adams Lee started her business old-school, knocking 200 houses and doing three open houses per week. In three years, she hit top 1.000 agents in the country. That success led to the 15-person team she leads today.

Stein and his wife have a six-person team with an average sale price falling somewhere between $4 million and $5 million.

Beer runs a team of about 29, 11 agents and 19 support staff.

Some of the great real estate teams of today rose up out of the housing crash, others out of necessity from growth or customer service needs.

If you’re an uber-successful agent, how do you take back your time so that you can grow your business?

“At the end of the day, the objection of business is that we all have a limited amount of hours, the same amount, every one of us. And [as team leaders] we’re trading hours at a certain rate for hours at a different rate. And that’s all we’re doing along the way. And when we start thinking that way, as business people, it starts to change,” Beer said.
