Inman Twitter Census
Inman Community brief
By Inman News, Tuesday, November 18, 2008.Inman member and Connect NYC '09 Bloggers Connect presenter, Gahlord Dewald, wants to take a Twitter Census of all the real estate-related people using Twitter. He started a group topic in the Inman Commuity section and would like Twitter users to leave their Twitter ID in the comments. Help Gahlord out, and if you are a Twitter user, leave a comment. If you're not a Twitter user, take a look at the list of folks who are -- chances are, you'll see some familiar names. Not sure what Twitter is all about? Leave a question on the thread -- you're sure to get some enlightening answers.

We're all over social media.
We believe all of it - Facebook, Linked-in, My Space, Twitter, Trulia are all raising our visibility as the web leads are becoming more frequent.
Basically, our leads are coming from the web leads and sign calls.

I confess, I am a tweet. I twitter.
My microblog handle is @EmilyMedvec
My link is http://www.twitter.com/EmilyMedvec
I microblog about what interests me as my way of making a difference. If you do not know what twitter is do a google search. It is different that Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace because it is all about a conversation with strangers who are in fact like minded people who share common interests. It is not anything like the "friend" connections or online marketing or posting a resume. Twitter is different and in my opinion it is the pioneer of social media today. The best way to see and learn is from experience or just simply twitter. If you want to make a difference in your community and in your work, twitter is a good place to start.

Doug-Twitter is a microblogging tool that allows you to post only 140 character messages at the time. I would say it's greatest value being able to find information quickly (i.e. post a question to your followers) and it's a great networking tool for finding and connecting with people with similar interests.
The more followers you have the greater the value so it does take time to build up a network, but it's definitely worth it.
If you're not sure what to "tweet" about, a good start is just posting links to interesting news stories/blogs you read.
Happy tweeting!

Hey all,
Please note that I'm really only checking that community thread for additions to the list. So make sure to leave your comment there.
For those who are wondering what to do with twitter... I keep an archive of Twitter for Real Estate Business posts at my company blog (let me know if I'm missing anything there as well, please).

I am using Twitter, but I have not learned it's full potential yet. It is definately an active community. I have been on for about 2 months now. I still need to learn how to use it effectively to help my RE business. I am also on Linked-in, Activerain, Facebook, and I have noticed more traffic going to my website. It takes a while for it to build up, give it 60 - 90 days and you should notice some improvement to your web traffic.

Okay I am Twittering now. I don't feel any different yet. And Kelly, I feel funny about "tweeting," but hey, what I do in the privacy of my head...........
I posted a blog on Activerain about my MySpace experience a few months ago. Of course I have no clue if I can even link it here. Probably should ask my kids.

Even though it is a bit after the fact, I would say that I have never found much value in using twitter so I haven't spent much time using it.
