Zillow.com partners with Weichert
Real estate tech brief
By Inman News, Thursday, November 6, 2008.Weichert Realtors, a real estate brokerage with 40,000-plus for-sale listings nationwide, today announced a partnership enabling it to automatically feed all of its listings to Zillow.com on a regular basis.
Weichert, which has 500-plus company-owned and franchised sales offices in key U.S. markets, joined the Zillow Listings Feed program to "maximize marketing exposure" for its listings, given "Zillow's 5.5 million visitors each month," according to Michael Montsko, president of Weichert Lead Network.
Each listing Weichert feeds to Zillow includes a description of the property with multiple photos and contact information for the listing agent, including links back to the Weichert Web site where Zillow users can find more information and connect with a Weichert sales associate to guide them through the home buying and selling process.

"maximize marketing exposure"!!
That is the name of the game!
Great move by Weichert to add this important top-of-mind Zillow website to help move their mountain of listings to closings sooner than later.

Great move, this should help both Zillow and Weichert be more effective in presenting homes for sale.

Any brokerage with the capability to send a feed to a 3rd party site and a contract from their MLS that allows such a transaction can send thier listings, including a linkback to their site, property details and multiple photos to Zillow. Our company sends all of our listings to Zillow, Trulia, CyberHomes, Frontdoor.com and Google Base. The best lead generation comes from Trulia, not Zillow. And, for our company at least, far out weighing the leads created on ANY of these sites are those that are generated organically.

When are agents going to wake up and smell the coffee???? I am so tired of hearing agents/brokerages laud these deals with Zillow et. al. like it is some great benefit for them and the consumer. For any agent with a website, ALL OF THESE THIRD PARTY SITES ARE YOUR COMPETITION. They will take your leads, use them to outrank you in the search engines, and then charge you to feature them on their site.
