HomeGain starts 'green' campaign
Real estate tech brief
By Inman News, Tuesday, April 21, 2009.Real estate marketing company HomeGain has launched a click-for-trees campaign and is also dispensing free "green" advice and reusable shopping bags as a part of its Earth Day-centered Green Real Estate Campaign.
The company has pledged, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, to pay for up to 1,000 trees to be planted in national forests -- this campaign is based on a target number of online clicks received from site visitors, with visitors limited to one click per day.
The company's green campaign Web site also features a webinar presentation by Realtor Jeffrey Bastress; a top 10 list of "eco-real estate tips for Realtors"; an audio interview with Marie Scheuring, a Realtor with an "EcoBroker" designation; and an area for submitting "Green Ideas."
According to the HomeGain announcement, the company practices "eco-friendliness" at its headquarters in Emeryville, Calif., by "maintaining an office environment free of disposable paper and plastic goods, and subsidizing HomeGain employee public transportation commuting costs," among other practices.

I am starting to feel the same way about all the “Green” rhetoric as I feel about politically correct and the war on drugs etc.
While I truly believe we should all stop being wasteful on every level I am also sick of hearing about it.
This is just mind candy that distracts us from the issues of the day.

Going green is a great way to cash in on the newly increased federal and state tax incentives for homeowners.
Best regards, Tom

I cheer HomeGain's efforts. Way to go!
It seems that going 'green' is good both for the environment and the economy so it's all good to me.
