Episode 24: How is real estate like golf? "It seems real easy but it never is," says real estate broker Frank LLosa.

"What do you do with your clients to help convey the message that it's not as easy as it seems?" he asks.

Some consumers may believe that they can find their own homes and that all they need is a "paper pusher" to help get deals done. He says, "How do we convey to the audience that it's like golf: it takes skill, it takes time, it takes experience? It's not just filling out paperwork."

I'm sorry but I can't take what this guy has to say very seriously with the camera spinning around on his steering wheel. It seems really silly and highly unprofessional to me. Is it just me? Is this really the best that Inman has to offer. I guess I just don't get it.

As a long time Realtor and golfer, I enjoyed Frank's two minute video. I'm sure many of us "whiffed" at some point during an early transaction so I get the golf analogy.

Frank's point about the consumer seeing us as only a paper pusher is uncomfortable but unfortunately also true in the eyes of many cunsumers. The question about what we do as an industry to promote our value in the transaction, or better yet a lifelong relationship as their trusted advisor on real estate matters, is a highly professional discussion we should be having.

Thanks Frank for delivering some excellent points with a little humor and fun. Keep swinging and take as many mulligans as you need.

Hey Bob,
Nice to meet you. Welcome to the 25th or something Wheel Estate Cam. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. Just trying to have some fun.

I understand there is a market for every type of agent. Many prefer to wear suits to show professionalism. I instead focus on what is said and just have fun with what I wear.

I assure you, if you can do better, you really should. It is tough speaking on a different topic every week. Heck, maybe even a guest spot!

I can envision it now. A suit and tie with a white wall background, while sitting in an office. I'm sure it will be thrilling.
