It’s time to cast your vote for the 2011 People’s Choice Innovator Award.

The award, based on popular vote, is one of nine categories that will be featured in the annual Inman News Innovator Awards. The award winners will be announced during the Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco, which runs from July 27-29, 2011.

Voting for the People’s Choice award will end Friday, July 22, and finalists for the other Innovator Awards categories will be announced during the week of July 18-22. Participants in the voting may choose from a list of reader-selected nominees (see full list below) or enter their own choice.

The People’s Choice award is intended to recognize a standout real estate-related technology. Last year’s winner was the DocuSign ESIGNControl app.

Since their inception in 1997, the annual awards honor those companies that use technology and innovation to enhance the real estate transaction process and improve the experience for consumers and real estate professionals alike.

Innovator Awards 2011

Winners of past awards include LendingTree, Coldwell Banker, Sawbuck Realty, Redfin, ActiveRain, vFlyer and Closing.com, and individuals including Bob Hale of the Houston Association of Realtors, Mark Lesswing of the National Association of Realtors’ Center for Realtor Technology, and Sherry Chris of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate.

The selection process

Each year, Inman News announces the launch of the Inman News Innovator Awards process with a call for nominations several months prior to the Real Estate Connect conference.

Nominations are open to all and are submitted online. An Inman News review team considers the nominations and selects the finalists. In selecting finalists, the review team may choose from the list of nominees and may also consider other prospects not identified in the nominations process. The review team selects the winners from the list of finalists.
