Zillow teams up with Portlandia on IFC TV ad

Portlandia, the sketch comedy sitcom that satirizes the peculiar subcultures of Portland, Ore., and airs on the IFC cable TV channel, has picked up its Seattle-based neighbor Zillow as an ad partner.

Zillow collaborated with the show to create a 30-second TV spot that features a couple of Portlandia characters searching for their ideal home using Zillow’s mobile iPad app. The ad — a small part of Zillow’s 2014 $65 million consumer marketing campaign — will air on the IFC channel and promote the TV show, a Zillow spokeswoman told Inman News.
