Inman Event Policies

By registering for an Inman event, you acknowledge and agree to the following policies:

Cancellation Policy

Any and all payments made to Inman are not refundable for any reason, including, but not limited to, in the event of illness of participants, unforeseen events or circumstances out of the reasonable control of Inman, the attendee or any other party, changes or modifications to the schedule, presenters, or events related to a conference, acts of God, travel-related problems, acts of terrorism, loss of employment and/or duplicate purchases.

You may cancel your registration by notifying us in writing at customerservice@inman.com. If your notice of cancellation is received by us more than 4 weeks prior to the ticketed conference, you may transfer your registration to the next Inman Connect event for no fee. If your notice of cancellation is received less than 4 weeks but more than 1 week before a ticketed conference, you may transfer your registration to the next Inman Connect event for a $150 administrative fee. If your notice of cancellation is received 1 week or less before a ticketed conference, your registration fee is forfeited to Inman as liquidated damages for the cancellation.

Transfer Policy

You may transfer your conference registration to another individual for the same event you are registered for by notifying us in writing at customerservice@inman.com. All substitution requests will be processed within two business days. Attendee substitutions on or after the start of the event will require a $150 fee.

Force Majeure

If an event beyond Inman’s reasonable control occurs that in Inman’s sole discretion would make conducting the Inman conference impracticable, illegal, or impossible (including, but not limited to, an act of God, war, strike or labor disturbance, terrorist attack, extreme weather event, curtailment of transportation or travel either in the event city or in the countries/states of origin of the attendees or epidemic, pandemic or any consequence thereof), Inman may cancel the event. The sole and exclusive remedy for such cancellation by Inman shall be the offer of a credit for a future Inman conference in the amount of the paid registration fee.

Privacy Policy

Inman may share registration information with event sponsors. For more information please see our privacy policy.

Code of Conduct

Inman is committed to creating a safe and inclusive experience for our readers, customers and attendees, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. All communication — including at the event and various associated venues, as well as online — should be appropriate for a professional audience, including people of many different backgrounds and experiences. Be kind to others. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Act professionally. Remember that harassment and sexist, racist or exclusionary jokes are not appropriate at any time at any Inman event or online setting. Anyone violating these rules may be asked to leave the conference or online forum without a refund at the sole discretion of the Inman staff. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is or have any concerns, please contact an Inman staff team member immediately. Thank you for helping make Inman welcoming, friendly places for all to share new ideas, learn and connect.

Equal Access

Inman strives to provide equal access to its events to all who wish to attend, except when to do so would present a direct threat to the attendee or others. Interested attendees should contact customerservice@inman.com with questions about Inman’s equal access policy.

Inman hires professional photography and videography services for our events, but understand attendees and speakers may want to bring in their own photographers and videographers. Professional photography and videography are permitted in Inman Connect public spaces, which include areas such as the Expo Hall, hospitality suites, and hallways.

Activities prohibited under the policy include:

  • Outside professional photography and videography during on stage sessions, unless written approval from the Inman staff.
  • Outside microphones will not be permitted as they interfere with our audio visual team’s equipment and outside parties are not permitted to plug into our sound system.
  • Commercial and media photography and videography of on-stage sessions, unless written approval from the Inman staff.

For speakers only:

Session videos and photos will be available to speakers after the event. In exchange for the session video footage and photos, we request access to any b-roll footage your videographer or photographer took.

  • For session videos, we ask that you only share short 60-90 second clips of content only, not full sessions.
  • Credit Inman on any posts and link back to inman.com/events page.

We deeply value the attendee experience at our events and encourage networking and events outside of conference hours. However, all outside parties or receptions with 50 or more attendees must be sanctioned by Inman. Outside parties and receptions are permitted for networking only, and should not be used by event hosts to facilitate content.

Please submit any event request to sales@inman.com for formal approval. If your request is approved, your hosted party will be included on Inman’s event agenda as a sanctioned event. Events that have not gone through the formal approval process will not be permitted. Inman reserves the right to restrict event access and speaking roles from anyone in violation of this policy.

If interested in collaborating with Inman to create a custom party or networking reception, or interested in additional promotion for your event, please reach out to sales@inman.com to learn more.

To request a media pass for an Inman Connect event, please fill out the media application form. Media passes are granted only to working journalists who intend to cover the event (see media and analyst required credentials below). The information you submit will be reviewed carefully, so please be as detailed as possible when filling out the form.

After your registration has entered our approval process, we will notify you by email if you are approved for a media pass.

A media pass entitles you to entrance to conference sessions, and admission to all on-site social events.

You are responsible for your own travel and accommodation costs. For hotel and travel information, please visit our hotel information page. If you have special needs, please be sure to let us know your specific requirements at least four weeks before the conference begins.

MEDIA AND ANALYST REQUIRED CREDENTIALS

Review the credential requirements below, and then apply using the form.

To qualify for a complimentary media pass for an Inman Connect event, the applicant must cover the industry on a regular basis by writing regular reports or publishing articles on related business/real estate/technology issues that are not solicited by a sponsor company. Private consultants who are paid by an individual company are not eligible for a media pass, and should request a pass from the sponsoring company. Also not eligible are financial research analysts, book authors, or contributors to user/community group publications.

Additional information on requirements for media and analysts is as follows:

NEWSPAPERS, WIRE SERVICES and TRADE/BUSINESS PUBLICATIONS

Reporters from industry trade publications, newspapers, and wire services must provide a sample of a published article from the past six months that clearly displays authorship.

INDUSTRY ANALYSTS

Writers from internationally recognized market research organizations, who consistently write for regularly published newsletters and/or reports, must provide a sample of an industry-related report published within the past six months that clearly displays authorship. Please note that only one analyst per firm may attend.

ONLINE NEWS OUTLETS

An online news outlet must contain original news content above and beyond links, forums, troubleshooting tips and reader contributors, and have a readership of over 20,000 per month. Each news outlet must have a paid reporting staff of two or more and must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week.

ASSOCIATION PUBLICATIONS/NEWSLETTERS

Reporters from internationally recognized magazines, newspapers, or newsletters produced by industry associations must provide an article published within the past six months. Newsletter reporters must have a registered subscriber base of at least 20,000.

FREELANCE WRITERS AND AUTHORS

Persons requesting freelance credentials must provide an article published within the past six months or a letter of assignment from a qualifying editor or publication. Those who freelance occasionally and are employed by non-news organizations are not eligible for media credentials.

We reserve the right to refuse media passes, without cause, during preregistration as well as on-site media registration. Please be advised that, due to high demand, media passes are limited in number and are reserved for commercial news outlets and major analyst firms.
