Home prices are rising, but are they climbing beyond their intrinsic values?
A new analysis from The Economist of the 20 cities covered by the CoreLogic Case-Shiller home price index indicates the answer’s no.
The CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-city composite home price index shows that home prices have risen 20 percent since the beginning of the year through March, and The Economist’s analysis shows that Phoenix, Tampa, Miami, San Francisco, Atlanta, Dallas and the other metros covered by the index have price-to-value levels consistent with their long-term averages.
