Freddie Mac to receive lion's share of $1.9B settlement with Deutsche Bank

Freddie Mac will receive $1.63 billion from Deutsche Bank as part of a $1.93 billion settlement resolving claims related to investments by Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae in “private label” mortgage-related securities typically backed by subprime loans.

Freddie Mac and its regulator, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, will continue to work to reach settlements with other lenders that sold it similar securities. Source: Freddie Mac
