Americans’ perceptions of the real estate industry are improving. Nonetheless, more, barely, rate the industry negatively than positively, according to a telephone poll of approximately 2,000 Americans conducted by Gallup in August.
Thirty-six percent of respondents rated real estate negatively in the poll while 35 percent rated it positively, matching 2007’s spread, which also saw 1 percent more respondents rating the industry negatively than positively. Each of the polls in the intervening years showed real estate’s negative perception spread at double digits.
