Geographic research, analysis and data mining company Location Inc. has patented a system that it’s using to produce a nationally-comparable index score rating the quality of public schools in different states, taking into account variations in standardized tests used by each state. The Worcester, Mass.-based company says the ability to compare the quality of schools located in different states is important not only to people moving long distances, but for people who work in large metropolitan areas that are spread across two or more states.
