Local agent “online dating” sites that match up listing and buyer’s agents and their clients and top-producer networks that facilitate deals between connected agents and a low-inventory, high-demand market mean deals done without the aid of a multiple listing service have been on the upswing in the San Francisco Bay Area, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Chronicle referenced an analysis from MLSListings Inc., a multiple listing service (MLS) covering Santa Clara, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Benito counties in the Bay Area. The analysis shows that 26 percent of homes sold in MLSListings’ coverage area were not done through the MLS in the first quarter of 2013.
