Oregon high court clears way for MERS to participate in nonjudicial foreclosures

The Oregon Supreme Court has ruled that lenders using a registry created by Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems Inc. (MERS) can move homes through the foreclosure process outside of the court system, and that MERS can participate if it can prove that it’s acting as an agent for the lender.
