Home asking prices are still going up — 2 percent in September from August and 11.5 percent from a year ago — but the pace of the rise is slowing, according to Trulia. In the three months ending in September, asking prices rose 3 percent, the lowest jump in a three-month period since February.
More than two-thirds of the U.S.’s 100 largest metros saw asking prices on homes listed on Trulia dip from the second quarter to the third.
Rent prices are also slowing, Trulia data show. Eighteen of the 25 largest rental markets saw year-over-year rent increases slow in September from their June rate.
