Salesforce.com, the popular customer relationship management platform, announced today that it has signed an agreement to purchase marketing firm ExactTarget, which specializes in integrating consumer data and facilitating automated tailored marketing.
“The addition of ExactTarget makes Salesforce the starting place for every company and puts Salesforce.com in the pole position to capture this opportunity,” said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, Salesforce.com.
ExactTarget’s current clients include Coca-Cola, Gap and Nike.
