Changing the industry: 5 ideas at a time

Panelists to discuss new real estate technology

Inman News®

Representatives of five startup technology companies will take the stage at the Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco in July to share their ideas and innovations.

The participants in the "Five New Ideas that are Going to Change Real Estate" panel, chosen based on the potential for their technologies to enhance the industry, include CyberCity3D CEO Kevin DeVito, Mixpo CEO Anupam Gupta, MyFrontSteps CEO Brendan King, Personive senior vice president Jack Horton; and RealSeekr CEO Grant Freer.

Personive allows individuals to register at the site to protect their privacy and manage their online personas. The online service is based on technology that verifies the attributes of an audience, captures their interests and makes their profiles portable for use by other Web sites.

Mixpo is an online video advertising platform designed for local, small and mid-sized advertisers, including real estate professionals.

RealSeekr.com, offers property search for consumers and networking, communications and marketing tools for real estate professionals (see Inman News article).

MyFrontSteps created StepRep, a tool to help users build, manage, track and monitor their online reputation and identity. StepRep users can connect with their clients via social networks, allowing those clients to recommend them to their extended network of friends and family.

CyberCity 3D creates and supplies three-dimensional city and building models for Web publishing and online advertising, primarily through Google Earth, a free downloadable application that provides a three-dimensional rendering of the planet. CyberCity 3D seeks to enhance the user experience at online real estate and travel Web sites.

The technologies were selected based on applications that Inman News received to an open call in May for new ideas in the real estate industry. The application process closed June 13.

Brad Inman, Inman News and Real Estate Connect founder, will moderate the panel. “Real estate industry professionals have consistently leveraged technological advances to better serve their clients and colleagues,” Inman said. “The companies and panelists we’ve chosen for the 5 New Ideas panel have what it takes to help buyers and sellers continue to thrive in a quickly changing market.”

The Real Estate Connect conference will be held July 23-25 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. The “5 New Ideas That Are Going to Change Real Estate” panel is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 24.

I wish that I could make it this year, certain circumstance did not allow me to make this. Technology is passion and this panel for technology sounds incredible. All the best at SF Connect and I'm looking forward to the blog that will come out.

This should be a very interesting session. I'm familiar with some, but not all of the panelists...

If Gia and Grant at RealSeekr can turn a tenth of their passion and amazing customer service skills into this product, it is destined for ridiculous success.

CyberCity3D looks really cool, they need to move just slightly west and get Phoenix covered!

If Mixpo was smart enough to tap into a bazillion agents at ActiveRain, they are smart enough to continue to innovate.

The guys at MyFrontSteps are wicked smart, and in touch with the industry, it'll be interesting to see their product.

Hadn't heard of Personive, but it sound intriguing. And needed.
