Mobile sites get 'QuickFind' MLS tool

MobiManage builds mobile Web sites for agents

Inman News®

Homebuyers with Web-enabled mobile phones can find listing information on any property in their area by entering the first few numbers of an address into agent Web sites optimized for mobile devices by mobiManage.

Tulsa, Okla.-based mobiManage says the latest version of its mobile Web sites for agents, mobiAgent Version 3.0, features a QuickFind MLS search field. After entering the first few numbers of an address, buyers can view all the standard multiple listing service information, including photos and Google Mobile map location links, as well as the agent's e-mail address and click-to-call phone number.

The application allows buyers to save properties they are interested in, which automatically sends an e-mail to the agent listing the buyer's name, phone number, and the property of interest. In addition, each mobiAgent site includes mobile analytics so agents can track how often a property has been viewed, forwarded or saved.

Agents can upload and manage their properties through a Web-based content management system, giving them the ability to set their properties apart as featured properties. The company says its mobiAgent mobile sites work on any Internet-capable mobile device, including iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, and RAZRs, and do not require downloads to use or manage.

Providing consumers with a way to search real estate on their cell phone is essential in moving the industry forward. At www.smarteragent.com Smarter Agent provides a mobile application called Homes for Sale that obtains our users location through GPS in the phone and pulls up all available properties in their immediate area and delivers price info, pictures and descriptions instantly to their mobile device. Agents and brokers can brand our app to give out to an unlimited number of consumers. With a branded app, all calls are routed back to that agent or broker through our “call to see” button, regardless of who listed the property.

What I like about what I read regarding the mobiManage solution is that it seems to be a completely web based solution. With no need to download an app, wouldn't it be just like surfing on your computer through the MLS but doing so right on your phone while your driving about? That sounds like it would open the experience up to everyone. I like this open approach and not limiting the benefits of the product to only those who have been given the app by their agent. Just my thoughts from down in SC.
