Charlie Young to lead ERA franchisor
Former Coldwell Banker exec succeeds Casserly
By Inman News, Wednesday, April 15, 2009.ERA Franchise Systems LLC's recently appointed chief operating officer, Charlie Young, has been named ERA's president and chief executive officer by parent company Realogy Corp.
Young, who came to ERA from Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC in February, succeeds former President and CEO Brenda Casserly, who died April 1 after a long battle with cancer (see story).
In his five years with Coldwell Banker, Young spearheaded several programs that served as industry firsts while establishing himself as a recognized industry speaker, Realogy said in a press release.
A 1987 graduate of Emory University, Young was previously vice president for Cendant Mortgage (now PHH Mortgage), working with brokers to implement private-label mortgage programs. He has also held executive positions at Frequency Marketing Inc.; Foote, Cone & Belding Direct; Bell Atlantic (Verizon) Directory Services; and the New Jersey Nets.
Realogy said that in his new position, Young is charged with implementing growth and profitability strategies for member brokers across a 2,800-office network with 33,000 brokers and sales associates worldwide.
