Real estate tech brief
By Inman News, Monday, April 20, 2009.There are five real estate-related nominees for the Webby Awards, an annual awards competition for Web sites and other online content.
Established in 1996, the Webby Awards are selected by a 550-member body of individuals, including musicians, members of the media and others, known collectively as The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.
There are five real estate nominees for the 13th annual Webby Awards, including:
- Riverfront Park (a development in Denver)
In addition to Web sites, Webby Awards are also offered for interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile.
There are about 70 categories for the awards, and each category receives one Webby Award and one People's Voice Award -- the latter award is determined by the online community.
Judging criteria include: content; structure and navigation; aesthetic; functionality; interactivity; and the overall experience of the site.
There were 10,000 entries from 60 nations for last year's Webby Awards.

How do sites get nominated for Webbys, and how many entries were there in the real estate division?
