A social approach to Real Estate Connect
Web platform offers real-time multimedia mashup
By Inman News, Thursday, July 23, 2009.
Inman News is partnering with SocialApproach.com to offer a social media mashup featuring a collection of Twitter posts, photos, videos and news related to the upcoming Real Estate Connect conference in San Francisco, which runs from Aug. 5-7, 2009.
The multimedia networking platform, at http://inman.socialapproach.com, displays map icons showing the location of participants -- clicking on the map icons reveals recent Twitter commentary by participants.
Real Estate Connect attendees can sign in to their Twitter accounts and click on the "Attendees" button to add themselves to the list of Real Estate Connect attendees displayed at the Inman's SocialApproach site.
To contribute Twitter posts to the site, use the hashtag "#icsf" in your Twitter posts.
YouTube videos and photos at the Flickr.com photo-sharing Web site that are tagged with "#ICSF" or include the keywords "Inman News," "Connect SF" or "Real Estate Connect" will be included in the multimedia pool displayed at the site.
In addition to the interactive map tool and the attendees list, the site also features "Who's Talking Now," "Hot Topics," "Latest Media" and "Social Mentions" sections, as well as a photo bar that features linked Twitter profile photos.
Jeff Bernheisel, Inman News marketing coordinator, said, "The idea behind implementing this was to allow our community to create a fully interactive experience revolving around Connect SF."

I began my real estate career in the 80's. At that time our office, which was the largest real estate office in Whatcom County, had no fax machine, no computers & no form of mobile radio communication other than a central CB radio system.
It's amazing how far our industry has come in 20+ years. My compliments to you at Inman for leading the way.

Very helpful concept. I work with European real estate buyers a lot and it's obvious that Americans are way ahead in using internet for practical reasons and business.

I work in a small town in Alabama, and attended the connect conference for the first time, last year in SF. It was the very best thing I could have ever done for myself & my business, for my whole approach to learning and improving my own business model here. To be immersed, physically, into the whole expererience, was truly phenomenal. I have many more miles to go, and am extremely disappointed to not be able to attend this year, but have already started saving for 2010. Attending every one is my ultimate goal! I'll be missing you all & will be tuned in to #ICFS. I am grateful for the continuos stream of inspiration and motivation for a better world of real estate!
