Episode 11: Instant-messaging isn’t just for idle chat — it can serve a business purpose, too, says real estate broker Frank LLosa. IM facilitates real-time interaction with clients and fellow professionals while bypassing e-mail-checking delays, LLosa says.
Set up an IM name that makes sense for your business, such as "YourNameAgent" or "YourNameRealtor" or match it with a Twitter or other online handle, he suggests, and use it to communicate with key professionals in the transaction process, such as a title agency contact. To those who say instant-messaging is too distracting, LLosa says it’s no more distracting than a phone call and is ultra-efficient.
