MRIS taps Instanet for e-signatures
50,000 Realtors in mid-Atlantic region will have access to Authentisign
By Inman News, Thursday, March 17, 2011.Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. -- a Rockville, Md.-based multiple listing service serving nearly 50,000 Realtors in the mid-Atlantic region -- has selected Instanet Solutions to provide electronic signature services to members.
Instanet's Authentisign digital signature platform is simple to use, and can be integrated into third-party forms and applications already used by MRIS members, said MRIS Chief Marketing Officer John Heithaus in a statement.
"Authentisign will clearly improve and facilitate the document-signing process, and this will free our customers to redirect the time saved to more profitable activities," Heithaus said.
He said MRIS plans to work closely with 25 shareholder associations and large real estate brokers to facilitate the transition and adoption of Authentisign.
Canadian-based Instanet Solutions claims 390,000 licensed, paid, user accounts of their real estate-focused products, which include: InstanetForms, TransactionDesk, DocBox, DocBox2Go, InstanetFax and Authentisign.
Competing electronic signature providers include DocuSign, which counts the National Association of Realtors among its investors and offers a "Realtor Edition" electronic signature service tailored and branded for NAR members.
