ActiveRain CEO steps down
Network's CTO also resigns
By Inman News, Wednesday, May 11, 2011.ActiveRain co-founder Jonathan Washburn has stepped down in his role as the real estate network's CEO to focus on his new venture, daily deals site DailyTicket, the network announced in a blog post.
Nikesh (Niki) Parekh is now the network's CEO. Parekh was formerly CEO of online marketing company Propel and a consultant for ActiveRain.
Washburn founded ActiveRain in 2006 with Matt Heaton. Washburn will continue at ActiveRain as an "adviser, product champion and significant shareholder," the post said.
ActiveRain's chief technology officer and vice president of product development, Jorgen Hahn, has also resigned from the network. Hahn apparently objected to changes in ownership stakes in the company, according to a blog post today.
Market Leader paid $450,000 to boost its ownership of ActiveRain's outstanding voting stock from 34 percent to 51 percent in September.
