Northern Virginia real estate agent Vicky Chrisner is appealing to agents to petition the National Association of Realtors and Move Inc., which operates realtor.com on behalf of NAR, to put a stop to realtor.com’s experimental agent ranking tool, AgentMatch.
In a petition posted today on change.org, Chrisner echoed concerns put forward by some of her colleagues after realtor.com demoed AgentMatch for NAR members this month at the association’s annual convention.
Ranking agents by productivity statistics “favors the team model where one agent takes ‘credit’ in the MLS for all the sales of the many agents that work on their team even if they are uninvolved in the transaction,” Chrisner said. “By contrast, a single agent can not possibly produce the same volume of transactions.”
Realtor.com has invited 16 real estate professionals to serve on an advisory board that will help steer further development of AgentMatch, currently being tested in the Las Vegas and Boulder, Colo., markets. Source: change.org
