In an effort to help close the minority home ownership gap,, the official Web site of Black Entertainment Television, and Century 21 Real Estate Corp. have formed an association to help increase African-American home ownership through Internet-based education.

As part of the initiative, launched the “Owning a Home Club” sponsored by Century 21. The club is an interactive virtual classroom accessed through that helps members navigate the home-buying process. Registered members have access to home affordability and true cost calculators, online mortgage applications and numerous home-buying tools on

Through its affiliation with Century 21, will also profile affordably priced homes in nearly 20 different markets nationwide that require down payments as low as $5,000.

Profiled markets will include Atlanta; Baltimore; Charlotte, N.C.; Chicago; Cleveland; Dallas; Detroit; Houston; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Memphis, Tenn.; Miami; New Orleans; New York; Philadelphia; Richmond, Va.; and Washington, D.C. visitors can access the featured homes via the weekly “Property Listings” feature or via the site’s “Owning a Home” channel. The featured homes are provided through a connection to and its national inventory of more than 225,000 property listings.
