Berwind Property Group, a Philadelphia-based privately held real estate investment firm, has purchased a community shopping center in Orlando, Fla.

The transaction was valued at $18.7 million.

Southchase Village is a 230,212-square-foot retail center located in the South Orange County submarket of Orlando. The 14-year old property was 97 percent occupied at the time of purchase.

The center is anchored by Winn Dixie. Other tenants include Bealls, Tuesday Morning, Eckerd Drugs and World Gym.

The seller was SOSHA Property Investments, a TAM Corporation. Whitney Knoll and Chris Decoufle of Trammell Crow Co. represented the seller in the transaction. Trammell Crow Services will manage the property for BPG and Scott Crossman and Scott Renick of Crossman & Co. will serve as leasing agents for the property.

The purchase was made on behalf of BPG Investment Partnership VI, a $384 million private equity fund sponsored by BPG.
