RE/MAX has sold regional franchising rights in the Czech Republic to Prague Top Estates, the company announced Wednesday.

Prague Top Estates is run by Vojtech Kratky, a specialist in real estate legal relations and trade, whose education includes a combination of business and law. Kratky is a doctor of laws who worked in the tax and legal department of Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu and headed a department handling the privatization of residential property in Prague 7 City District.

The Czech Republic is a parliamentary democracy, which gained independence on Jan. 1, 1993, when Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Located in Central Europe, southeast of Germany, it borders Austria, Germany, Poland and Slovakia. With a population of 10.2 million, it is one of the most stable and prosperous of the post-Communist states.

The RE/MAX franchise network is a global real estate system now operating in 53 countries, with more than 5,300 independently owned offices and 100,000 sales associates.
