Inman has officially opened applications for its brand-new Local Storytellers program. The initiative, announced by Inman CEO Thomas Bohn at Inman Connect San Diego in July, allows agents like you to share local insights, opinions and perspectives only real estate industry professionals know. Local Storytellers is the platform where members of communities across the country share truly expert knowledge.
Our reporters and editors are the best in the business, but they can’t be everywhere — or know the very specific and nuanced factors affecting each of the thousands of local markets nationwide. But you do. Among the issues we imagine we’ll hear about:
- New construction and builder incentives in fast-growing areas
- Property tax changes and ballot measures
- Home insurance costs and insurers pulling out of certain locations
- HOA and condo issues
- Data center fights and other big land-use battles that affect home values and nearby listings
- Rent control and tenant protections
- Down payment assistance and first-time buyer programs
And that’s just the beginning. The possibilities are truly endless.
Interested in joining our team of citizen journalists? Submit an application here beginning Monday, Nov. 2. Local Storytellers content will launch in January 2027.
