Real estate group sells Staples shopping center

Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. recently purchased Staples Plaza Shopping Center in Yorktown Heights, N.Y. The value of the transaction was $28.4 million. The property, which contains 201,000 square feet of leaseable space, was purchased from a private real estate group. At the time of sale, Staples Plaza was 97 percent leased and shadow anchored by a 107,000-square-foot BJ's Wholesale Club. The center's tenant roster consists of national and regional retailers including Staples, Bed Bath & Beyond, Party City, Dunkin Donuts and A.C. Moore. The property, which is situated on 16.4 acres of land, was built in stages during the 1970s.
