GlobeXplorer acquires aerial imagery provider

Purchase of AirPhotoUSA extends land information products

GlobeXplorer, a provider of geographic data to real estate and other industries, has acquired a 100 percent interest in AirPhotoUSA LLC, the company said Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The purchase will combine GlobeXplorer's earth imagery and property information Web services and AirPhotoUSA's aerial map production for a set of land information products. "Customers are demanding more powerful and cost-effective options for making imagery and maps part of their business and personal lives," said Rob Shanks, GlobeXplorer's president. Both companies will remain focused on their core capabilities, while leveraging the strengths of each other's spatial data products and services.
