Mixed movement in overnight real estate rates

30-year fixed rate at 5.8%; 10-year Treasury yield up at 4.56%

Long-term mortgage interest rates were scattered Thursday, and the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond yield rose to 4.56 percent. The 30-year fixed-rate average slipped to 5.8 percent, and the 15-year fixed-rate gained to 5.46 percent. The 1-year adjustable was unchanged at 4.63 percent. The 30-year Treasury bond yield increased to 4.5 percent. Rates are current as of 7:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. In other economic news, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 67.95 points, or 0.61 percent, finishing at 11,069.22. The Nasdaq lost 3.85 points, or 0.17 percent, closing at 2,279.32.
