today announced the acquisition of Apartment Home Living, a social media apartment Web site, in an attempt to obtain a broader audience of renters and provide "an even more desirable solution to advertisers."

The move aims to capitalize on’s large inventory of rental listings and Apartment Home Living’s more than 525,000 monthly Web site visitors, which it attracts through its "live for fun" community, thousands of local neighborhood guides and videos posted to popular video-sharing sites, and apartment lifestyle matching, according to a press statement.

"Through the power of two of the nation’s leading apartment search Web sites, will drive even more qualified renter leads to our listings through unmatched renter exposure on more than 1,000 partner Web sites … and well-positioned social media initiatives …" said Kevin Doyle, senior vice president and general manager of, in a statement.

Chicago-based and Austin, Texas-based Apartment Home Living will continue to operate as two separate Web sites and business units, with all listings also appearing on Apartment Home Living.
