Andy Puthon — who followed up a 29-year career with Brookfield Real Estate Services as vice president of business development and strategic growth for Toronto-based Re/Max subfranchisor Integra Enterprises from 2011 to 2013 — has been named president of Coldwell Banker Canada Operations ULC.

Puthon’s new role will be to grow the global Coldwell Banker brand’s presence in markets across Canada.

“Andy Puthon is a strategic thinker who has a proven track record for franchise growth,” said Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC President and CEO Budge Huskey in a statement. “This new direction in leadership reflects our commitment both to the growth of the Coldwell Banker brand in Canada and the success of our valued franchisees. Andy’s leadership ability, extensive market knowledge and depth of experience in Canadian real estate franchising and operations will be tremendous assets in realizing the brand’s full potential.”

As executive vice president of Brookfield Real Estate Services, Puthon helped grow the Royal LePage system in Canada, and led Brookfield’s acquisition of Quebec-based La Capitale, U.S.-based GMAC Home Services and Real Living.

“I’m very excited about my new role and the many opportunities to grow the great Coldwell Banker brand in Canada,” Puthon said in a statement. “I look forward to working with a talented Canadian team and leveraging Coldwell Banker’s extensive global resources to assist our affiliates to become more productive and profitable, and to provide a compelling vision for prospective franchisees.”

Coldwell Banker, which is based in Madison, N.J., has had a presence in Canada since 1993. In May 2007, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC acquired Coldwell Banker Canada with an eye to expanding its North American network and providing enhanced services to affiliated brokers in Canada.

There are currently more than 200 independently owned Coldwell Banker residential and commercial franchised offices across Canada, the Yukon, and Northwest Territories.

As president of the global brand’s Canadian operations, Puthon will lead a Coldwell Banker management team headquartered in Burlington, Ontario.
